Roles and Permissions

Material on this site has different roles and permissions. This system of granular level of access ensures that the Wonnarua community can control who has the right to view certain contents. In general, the following cultural protocols are applied on this site:

  • Open Protocols – enable materials to be made available for the public to view through the Wonnarua Language and Culture Archive website
  • Closed Protocols - enable the sharing of materials within defined community groups. For example, a closed protocol might relate to a family group, or it could be designated for use by members of the Wonnarua Nation only. Material that has a closed protocol is available only to registered members who have signed up for access.

Cultural Sensitivity Warning - A note on historical documents

The site contains materials relating to Wonnarua people, culture and language that have been sourced from libraries, archives and museums. Visitors should be aware that some of the material on this website may contain words, descriptions and terms which may be culturally sensitive and/or derogatory, racist or offensive. Where possible sensitive contents have been identified, a 'Warning' note has been applied.

This site also contains images and voices of people who have died. Any use of the language materials, and historical records, should be done in consultation with the WNAC.
